Starting tomatoes from seeds: week 1

Ok, judging by the temperatures this is probably the last week to start the tomato seeds! Here are my pictures of how to do it, and I will be posting weekly. So, week 1 get your seeds, plastic containers or plates, some paper towels, water and a plastic bag.

Step 1 put paper towels on the plates and water them slightly.

Step 2 place your heirloom tomato seeds on the wet paper towels

Step 3 cover the seeds with mist paper towels

    Step 4 label the seeds

Step 5 wrap the plates in a plastic bag and put in dark drawer. Set up a reminder to check the seeds every other day to make sure they stay moist. Germination takes about a week.
