Friday Mar 6, 3:30pm - Weekly Youth Climate Rally, Vaughan

"A student led climate rally in association with Climate Strikes Canada and promoted by the Maple High School Eco Team. #FridaysForFuture"

A few of us from Neighbours for the Planet joined Mbabazi this past Friday. Every Friday is colder than the last. This week on Fri Feb 28th, it was particularly cold with the temperature feeling like -18 C and a big snow and wind storm. And yet, Mbabazi is so committed. She showed up and stayed the whole hour!

I admit that a few times on my drive to join Mbabazi, I think, it's so cold, maybe she won't be there and then I can just go right back home. But every time, there is Mbabazi all wrapped up holding her sign to the cars passing by. And always a smile! If it wasn't for Mbabazi, I would have missed quite a few on these colder days. But I think that if Mbabazi can brave the cold, then so can I. She inspires me to show up no matter what! That is the true sign of a leader! Way to go Mbabazi!

It was so windy we had trouble holding up our signs and I forgot to take a picture. So I posted a picture from a previous Friday.

Thank you to Andy and Robin who came all the way from Stouffville in the winter storm! What great support!

Please come out this Friday to show your support! I'm sure it will be warmer! :-)
