Reduce Food Waste

According to the National Zero Waste Council of Canada, one third of all food produced globally is wasted!

In Canadian households, two thirds of food that is thrown out could have been eaten!

We have created a flyer to help people understand how food waste impacts our carbon footprint.  As you can see in the below graph, if food waste was a country, it would be the third largest green house gas emitter, surpassed only by China and the United States.

We have collected a useful array of resources around food waste.  Everything from calculating your food waste footprint to how to read food labels to the importance of using your compost bin so it end up in the landfill.
