About a dozen people braved the cold and windy morning for the Intersection Action hosted by Extinction Rebellion Richmond Hill (XR-RH).
XR-RH proudly displayed their new XR banner which was held in front of cars waiting at the red light. Hundreds of XR flyers were handed out to people in cars eager to learn more about XR and the Climate Crisis. Cars honked in support and most people walking by were interested in hearing what XR was all about!
It was a successful first XR-RH climate action event, raising the awareness of the climate action to residents of York Region.
As per the XR-RH website "The Richmond Hill chapter is new and growing. For now, we are focused on:
Informing York Region residents that we are in a crisis
Assembling people who are ready to take action
Organizing local events, demonstrations & protests
Participating in national & international campaigns by Extinction Rebellion & other groups"

Neighbours for the Planet is a big supporter of XR-RH. We all need to work together to fight the climate crisis and there are many ways to do that. Join a climate group that speaks to you or all of them! Keep up to date on all climate events on our upcoming events page.
Thank-you Neighbours for the Planet! For joining us on Sunday, and for this nice write-up. Sunday was fun, and a good reason to have tea and doughnuts together afterwards. We met lots of locals who are concerned about the climate crisis, and we were glad to let them know about Extinction Rebellion. We look forward to doing more together, to demand a sustainable and livable future!
