Wed Nov 20, 7-9pm: Neighbours for the Planet Meeting

Join us for our next meeting!

Find out more about Neighbours for the Planet, meet other like-minded people who care about the climate crisis, and let's take climate action to help tackle this very urgent issue.

Date: Wed Nov 20

Time: 7-9pm

Location: The Loft at Longos, 10860 Yonge St, Richmond Hill, ON L4C 3E4

(just north of Elgin Mills)

When you enter the store, turn left and go up the stairs. No outside food or beverages allowed, but you are welcome to buy something at Longos and bring that to the meeting.

The room has a maximum capacity of 25 people. Please RSVP by emailing contact@neighboursfortheplanet.ca so that we can ensure we don't exceed the limit.

Agenda:

1) For the first 30 minutes, Monica Woodley and Carrie Tai will be giving a climate presentation as part of Climate Reality's 24 Hours of Reality: Truth in Action, a global conversation on the truth of the climate crisis and how we solve it.

For one full 24-hour period, Climate Reality Leader volunteers trained by former Vice President Al Gore will hold public presentations and conversations on our changing climate in schools, community centers, workplaces, and more across all 50 US states and countries worldwide.

For each audience member who attends the presentation (and fills out our form), Climate Reality will plant one tree on their behalf, thanks to our friends at One Tree Planted. It’s going to be a great opportunity to talk about what the climate crisis means for this community, as well as the solutions and actions we can take to make a difference. I hope you’ll join us!

2) Bill Sedgwick will facilitate the second part of our meeting. In our last meeting, we finalized a list of initiatives that we would like to focus on. For more details, check out Our Work. We will now brainstorm ideas of what we could do in each of these initiatives.

Bring a friend or come out and make some new friends!

EVERYONE is welcome!

Let's build our climate community!
