"The climate crisis is the greatest emergency my generation will face, and because of young climate activist, Greta Thunberg, young people all over our planet are standing up to fight for our future. Starting with a lone protest in August 2018, Greta created the Fridays for Future movement that spread across the globe. Young people rallied behind her, taking up civil disobedience in the name of saving our planet. She has taken our fight to the United Nations, the European Union, the World Economic Forum and met with the Pope.
This year, Greta was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize and recognized by Time as one of their 100 most influential people.
We are now calling on Time Magazine to name Greta Thunberg and the Fridays For Future Movement as its 2019 Person of the Year as recognition for her massive impact."
