"Right now, Export Development Canada is considering lending millions of public dollars to TC Energy to build the Coastal Gaslink pipeline. It is absolutely unacceptable for public money to go towards the Coastal Gaslink pipeline. This project is opposed by Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chiefs and is in direct violation of their Indigenous rights and title over their ancestral homelands. Earlier this month, militarized police officers violently arrested peaceful Wet’suwet’en land defenders and matriarchs who were protecting their unceded lands from this disastrous project. This violent assault has triggered national solidarity demonstrations across the country."
