"The day after the World Health Organization declared the outbreak of COVID-19 a pandemic, polluting industries began a full-court lobbying press.
While we’ve been at home, oil, petrochemical and plastics companies (and their associations) have reported more than 400 meetings with federal officials since the start of the pandemic — that’s an average of about 5 meetings per day … and climbing! And that’s not all. Other sectors with massive environmental footprints — aviation, auto makers, forestry and banking — have had hundreds more meetings."
