Your chance to strengthen the Canadian Environmental Protection Act

Courtesy of Kathleen Wong, Blue Dot York Region:

Canada’s Environmental Protection Act – the law that’s supposed to protect us from harmful chemicals – is 20 years out of date.  The federal government committed to updating this law but no action has been taken yet. In 2017, the House of Commons environmental committee reviewed CEPA and made 87 recommendations for strengthening the act, including the human right to a healthy environment.

Having environmental rights recognized in CEPA would establish for the first time the human right to a healthy environment in federal law. Please sign the petition to strengthen CEPA.
